Here We Go... One more Time...

BAHAHA! Today is another day at school. A very good day actually. I will write and tell you about my not so good day though. On Friday was Parent Teacher conferences. In the short version, it wasn´t so wonderful. I was sitting in the room and parents start coming in and so I am surrounded by 10 parents. All of which are very angry that their kids aren´t doing better... which I can understand...but in order to do well in school, you must do your homework, WHAT A NOVEL IDEA! Anyway, so I guess culture shock set in a little..... Today is Tuesday and It is a good day! My kids are listening, and they are actually learning something! YAY! I AM ACTUALLY GETTING THROUGH TO THEM! Well... at least I THINK I am! College is back in full swing, I´m sorry for those of you who are in school. I am too if it makes you feel any better... and to compare GOING to school and TEACHING school.... I might have to say that Teaching is just as difficult if not more. But in completely different ways. We have spent some time checking out the MASK. We are all still a part of it, so don´t forget to look us up!
Have a wonderful day! Keep PRAYING! Stay Tuned....

It´s been awhile!

I haven´t posted in a while! There is so much I could say! First of all i will start with telling you about our first excursion. We decided that it was time to get out of the city and go see something green. We decided last Wednesday that on Friday we were going to go to this national park that we found in the lonely planet book. So on friday we met at school and then walked to the bus station. The bus station is quite ghetto and is basically a table with a man sitting there who sells you tickets. Then you get into a bus, which is quite sketchy and head off. We got let off at a town called La Guama and it was dark. We had forgotten the lonely planet book so we were getting a little scared about where we were going to find a ride to take us up the hill to the national park. But God always provides. As soon as we got off there was a van that was going up the hill so we all piled in and they took us to the entrance of the national park. We then were expecting to have rooms to stay in but they said that they were full. Uh Oh, It´s pouring down rain and we just traveled to get here. Luckily they had a big conference style room that had 20 bunk beds. THey gave us a cheaper price and we stayed there. It was awesome. All around us was jungle and beautiful green trees and plants. THe next day we got up and started on our hike up the mountain., We hiked for 5 hours and stopped along the way to get in waterfalls. The water was crystal clear and we had a blast. Our little vacation only cost us $15.00. You can travel super cheap here! It was so good for us to get away from Comayagua for awhile. We can´t wait to go on our next adventure!! Please keep praying for us, we have our first parent teacher conferences on Friday., We are all scrambling to get our grades done!! Which by the way we have grade books in Spanish and basically they didnt´give us any instruction... So i made it up! =)

WEEK TWO!

So here I am, I have survived one full week of school and I am now on Day two of my second week. The kids have finally stopped screaming because basically I yell enough for the both of us. Most of the time I can´t hear myself think. But today and yesterday have been much better. My week only gets harder though. We are hoping to go to a national park this weekend. We´d like to get away. The city is ok, but we are surrounded my mountains which seem JUST out of our reach. We want to get away for a while. This Sunday will be a month since we´ve been gone. It seems slow, but also the days go by so fast. I Hope that youare keeping us in your prayers. We need prayer. An interesting story.... Ï don´t know. I can´t really think of one right now. Oh, yes, here´s one. The other day one of my 7th graders was dancing and wouldn´t sit down so I finally stopped teaching, looked at him and held my hands over my eyes saying ¨STOP DANCING, YOU ARE HURTING MY EYES.... WATCHING YOU TRY AND DANCE!¨Little to say the kid stopped dancing. Sometimes you have to be straight foreward. It´s crazy how awful they write down here. But I enjoy giving my 7th graders a journal question everyday and I get to TRY and read their responses. They tell me about how mean the other kids are and how they feel bad about it. It´s sad but I feel like maybe I can start to reach one of them.. If all I do is reach ONE kid... then I´m happy... I pray that God will give me the chance...

It's almost friday!

This week has been so hard. My kids are kind of crazy and I am feeling like I can't control them. Hopefully it will get better. I know it will. Please pray for us.
